ABOUT THE PROJECT: This untitled documentary series aimed at the millennial audience will investigate issues regarding food safety, agribusiness, and the environment and cover breaking food and restaurant trends.
ABOUT THE COMPANY: Jigsaw Productions is home to director Alex Gibney, one of the most important and provocative documentary filmmakers working today. As such, the company has produced some of the most acclaimed documentary films in recent years, including the Academy Award-winning Taxi to the Dark Side, the Oscar-nominated Enron: The Smartest Guys in the Room, HBO’s multiple Emmy Award-winning Mea Maxima Culpa: Silence in the House of God, and Showtime’s Emmy-winning History of the Eagles. COMEDIC HOST: Male or Female. All ethnicities. 20-40’s. We are looking for a comedic host with great improv skills and intelligence. Must be very likable. Interest in food and food related topics a must. An up and coming Jon Stewart, Steven Colbert, etc… Please include media, media links and /or any background – e.g. if writes for Huffington Post, or previous related experience.
FOOD HOST: Male or Female. All ethnicities. 20-50’s. We are looking for someone with a background in food, (chef, food critic, etc) who is attractive and likable and engaging. Think: Padma Lakshmi, Anthony Bourdain, Jamie Oliver, Guy Fiery, Please include media, media links and /or any background – e.g. if writes for Huffington Post, or previous related experience.
INVESTIGATIVE HOST: Male or Female. All ethnicities, all ages. We are looking for someone with experience investigating topics, either as an on-camera personality, journalist, documentary filmmaker, blogger, etc. Must be engaging – an interest in FOOD and the topics around that world is a must. A new mobile campaign is looking for cool, hipsters with great personal style (18-30yrs) to talk about themselves, their cities, and the people they love to spend their time with. This is a fun, 1 day docu-style shoot.

WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
SHOOTING: Los Angeles, CA – Must be LA local or willing to pay for your own travel to LA
WHEN: 1 day shoot, week of Oct 20th
RATE: $100 honorarium for your time during our shoot (we will only need a few hours!)
For your video, you may use the questions below as a guide. Most importantly, we want to see your personality and hear any compelling, unique or funny remarks about the show. Authenticity is important so remember to be natural and DO NOT give us a scripted response.
Please keep it under 90 seconds. If we have any follow-up questions, we will definitely ask!
Submissions should be in .mov or .m4v formats and no more than 100mb. You can send via any delivery method: Email, Dropbox, WeTransfer, Vimeo, etc… as long as it is DOWNLOADABLE.
Again, this is a short form documentary featuring real people. We are not looking for actors per se. If you do sometimes work as an actor, please refrain from talking about your acting/entertaining career and focus on other aspects of your life.
All submissions shall automatically become the sole property of Boardwalk Pictures, and you agree by your submission that Boardwalk Pictures shall have all rights to exploit any part of your videos, without requirement of any further consents by you or any third party. The women we’re seeking may be CEO’s, cultural icons, humanitarians, or artists. They are passionate about making their mark, whether it is in the world of entertainment, fashion, beauty, athletics, philanthropy, or business. Most importantly, they inspire others because of who they are and how they live their lives. Our series will celebrate their extraordinary beauty and spirit.
We are not looking for endorsements; the essence of this content series is to honor the remarkable women who inspire us.
WHO IS AN INSPIRATIONAL WOMAN?
WHAT ROLE WILL THESE INSPIRATIONAL WOMEN PLAY IN OUR CONTENT SERIES?
We will produce five individual short films, each one focused on one exceptional woman. These films will live online and in partnership with other editorial outlets and social media platforms with a possible print component.
WHAT IS THE TIME COMMITMENT AND COMPENSATION?
We will be filming over a period of 2-3 days between mid-April and mid-May. Participants will be compensated $15K (honorarium direct to them or charity of choice) for their time, usage of their story, and image.
